sir,
16856
I have the honour to confirm with regret my
telegram of the 8th May reporting the death of Mr. Daniel Joseph
O'Halloran, Second Class Sanitary Inspector.
2.
Mr. O'Halloran was granted nine months leave of
absence on half pay from the 29th April, as reported in my
despatch No.143 of the 30th April. He left for England by the
S.S."Nubia" and a telegram was subsequently received by the Superintendent of the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation
Company here from the Agents in Singapore that he had died of
heart disease on board on the 6th May, and was buried on shore.
The deceased left a wife and daughter who went
home on the 23rd July, 1913. It is believed that Mrs.O'Hallorans
address is
3.
-
Mrs. O'Halloran,
c/o 25, Cobden Street,
Aberaman Place, Aberdare,
Glamorganshire,
South Wales.
I regret that the correctness of this address
cannot be vouched for, inasmuch as the deceased, when twice
asked for his home address under General Order 44, atated that
he had none.
4.
The widow is entitled to the half pay earned by
her late husband from the 29th April to the 6th May, both days inclusive, at the rate of £89.14.0 per annum, after deducting 4% for the Widows and Orphans Pension Fund; and I have to
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P. ..
